Lexus...Anyone?

First, I will apologize for the late post on our dr. visit yesterday. Once again, we were blessed and humbled by the good news we received. All babies are doing fine. Fluids are adequate and heart rates are normal. We met with Dr. Lin because Dr. Elliott was tied up at the hospital with 5 c-sections. She was great! She did a cervical exam and it is still long and closed. I have another appointment Friday afternoon just for an ultrasound to check on the babies.

Nick is at home for the next few weeks tying up loose ends. One of the items on his "daddy-do" list is to sell my car. I love my car, but I just don't think we will be fitting 4 carseats in it...EVER! Not sure yet what we will be getting so if any of you have suggestions...especially you quad moms and dads, we are open to them! I will say that it has been my lifelong dream to drive a minivan (that may be a slight exaggeration!) but really I love them! Anyway, my car (Nick calls it a truck) is in excellent shape. Here are some pics and details. If you or know someone who is interested, please contact Nick at nlambe@cox.net.

we "broke down" in Oct 2007 and bought a minivan when we had just 2 toddlers and immediately loved it - all of the extra room, dvd player, etc. Literally a week later we found out we were pregnant with #3!! Sometimes tough to say we drive a minivan but we still love it everytime we all pile in!!

Glad all is well! I love Dr Lin! She is so full of personality and easy to talk to. We're in a car jamble ourselves. We have an expedition and F150- -both do not fit 8 people. We know it will be quite some time we all travel anywhere together, but are looking to sell or trade the truck soon for something "bigger!" One of the NICU docs tease us to "get moving on getting that passenger van!"
Good luck! Kami

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my Minivan! I don't have multiples but I do have 3 children and we all fit into it great. We have a Chrysler Town & Country and love the stow and go seating. You can use it a extra storage when the seats are up or you can fold them into the floor when you don't need them! It is very easy to move around in also. No climbing over seats like in a suburban. I highly recommend a Minivan you your Four Little Lambes!!!

ok so i don't have quads but my dream car is a mini-van and i would imagine that it would work well that many kids b/c you would be able to get to the kids in the back easier. if i could get one i would probably go with a honda or nissan. good luck!

Hi! I'm leaving well wishes for you and your pregnancy. I'm a twin mommy, and I have three kids. I LOVE my mini-van and my husband and I actually fight over who gets to drive it! We bought a Toyota Sienna and could not be happier! It is so roomy. At 28 years old I'm proud to say I drive a mini-van (oh, where is that 21 year old spirit now? lol)

Anyway, I think it is awesome that you are sticking with your Christian beliefs and giving this pregnancy to God. God is good and surely will bless you. I was on bedrest with the twins starting at 25 weeks, so I think you are doing an amazing job!!

Keep up the good work!! :-)

I'm a mother to triplets as well as an older child and coming from my experience i would recommand the Pontanic Montana's.
We have the sports model. The only thing mine doesn't have and i so wish it did is the power siding doors. It has power everything,on star,cd player, air con, captin seats in the middle row which makes putting children into carseats so much easier.
We had the the Ford Windstar when the babies were really little and it had two bench seats and it was awful and as they grew they ran out of room for there legs and it was harder to lift them over the middle bench and into the carseats in the back row.
The Yukon is also a nice vechile but it might be pricey on gas.

Great news!! You are doing a jam up job girly! Keep those little munchkins well fed and happy :)

I'm partial to Suburban's, but if I had it to do all over again (please God NO) I would have to find a Ford Expedition in great condition. They don't make them anymore, but the Barbers have one and I WISH I would have bought one. It easily sits 8 people including 4 car seats and has plenty of room for strollers, diaper bags, groceries, etc in the back. Good luck and happy hunting!

I meant Excursion...not Expedition. They don't even make them anymore so it would have to be a used one.

I enjoy reading your blog. I just wanted to send a shout out to consumer reports. You can get a one week subscription for $6. The big winners for minivans are the Toyota Sienna and the Honda's minivan the Odyessey (sp?). Happy shopping.

I'm so glad your pregnancy continues to progress so well. You are truly blessed!
My .02 on the car is to get a mini van at least for a few years until they can get in and out of the car without help and do up their own seatbelts. The Honda Odyssey is probably one of the best. I owned a Nissan and it was great but I secretly longed for the Honda.
I owned the minivan until the kids were 5. It saved my back especially in the beginning when lifting the babies in their carseats gets to be quite a chore. With the minivan (make sure the second row is captains chairs) you will be able to maneuver around and get the kids in and out easier. Now I own a Suburban with a bench 2nd seat and it has a few design flaws. There are only 2 latch tethers and one is placed on the seat that moves to allow backseat access...Not smart. I can't imagine how hard it would have been to get infant seats over the bench. You would definitely need captains chairs if you go the Suburban route, it's just going to be quite the jump to get in since they sit much higher...
OK more that you asked for I'm sure, definitely more than two cents worth!
Hang in there, you're doing great!!

Hey Kami,
We also have a mini-van (Ford Freestar with captain's seats) and I hate it! It is SO hard lifting their seats over and into the back row. My friend that had twins got a Toyota Sequoia with removable console between the middle row captain's seats and I WISH I had one. I thought it would've worked great for us. Plus, it's pretty. I'm all about the pretty factor.

Good luck with your search. Hope you find something great!

Love,
Moni

I am the mother of 4 singletons and drive a suburban. After fighting my husband for quite some time, I'm so glad that we have it. I went from a durango to the suburban. You really wouldn't have to be climbing over the seats to get to the little lambs, plus you have much more cargo space than a mini van, especially when it comes to stroller and other equip.
Hope this info was helpful.
My family is keeping yours in our prayers.

Love my van! We have fit 5 car seats with out any trouble and still had room for an adult or two...
Good luck with the search and we are, of course, still praying for you and Nick and the babies.
