one year photos

Cherish has done it once again! Already the picture she took from their 6 month photo session have become so precious to us and now, we have these great moments captured. I can assure you that it was much harder this go round. At 6 months, all we had to worry about was wiping drool and making them smile which is a job in itself. But this time we had that AND the fact they are all mobile now! I think I got my cardio for the day for sure! I have 99 to choose from but these are just a few of my favorites. Oh, how will I decide?

Awww! (L to R: Rocco, Sloan, Madden, & Jagger)

...and just like that it all changes! Huge thanks to my cousin, Jana and my mom for helping herd the kiddos!

Love it!

Our First Easter

Technically, it's our second, but last year Nick was in BR and I was in Phoenix...the boys still in the NICU and Sloan was home with me. So our first Easter together as a family. And what a wonderful way to spend it at church celebrating the resurrection of our Savior Jesus Christ. A glorious morning indeed.

This was our first time all together at church since the babies were only 6 months old. Now, they have a schedule and a routine so I was naturally concerned how well they would adapt to their new surroundings and changes in their routine. Just first let me tell you how cute they looked...you will have to take my word for it because that's right....I got ZERO pictures of them all dressed up. I think I really underestimated how hectic the morning would be getting them all ready and myself and Nick. Well he dresses himself....sort of (j/k). I had a plan that we would take pictures at mom and dad's after we got back from church. Well there was no napping during church so Rocco and Jagger crashed as soon as we got in the car even without lunch! Sloan and Madden were troopers and just skipped their morning nap all together without much fussing, I must say. Needless to say, those two went down before the other two got up and that's pretty much how the day went...everyone on their own schedule! But late this evening I was determined to get some pictures of them...these will have to do for now...

Sloanie bunny, Rocbunny, Madbunny and Jagbunny
I know, I know...it's not great, but if you knew what was coming after this picture you would know that I didn't have much to choose from.

Well, I'll show ya (keep an eye on Rocco)...

Awww...my sensitive one

Did I mention we were off schedule??? And for the record there were 4 of us trying to make them smile! Some babies on the other hand enjoyed their change in routine.

Sweet Jagger

Madden & Jagger playing with their eggs from the hunt that I did NOT get pictures of! Ugh!
By the way, Team Madden (momma & Madden) found the golden egg...woohoo!

We did have a visit from the Easter Bunny and I did manage to get some pictures of the kiddos with their baskets...

First up...Rocco! He's always so happy in the mornings!

Madden's digging his new sippy cup. "Thank you Easter Bunny!"

Good times!

Jagger: "You want me to wear what?!?"

Sloan getting her good morning kisses from Lucy

"Look momma, more shoes! Score!"

I was thinking back to last Easter and how I only had Sloan at home....I remembered taking these pictures. I thought you might enjoy seeing too..

My sweet girl

Her first Easter dress was an actual baby doll dress because we couldn't find one small enough for her.

I hope you and your family had a wonderful Easter celebration!

He has Risen!

We Made It!

We are officially out of our first RSV season...and we made it without catching the dreaded virus. Sure, we got some colds, coughs and ear infections but never RSV...praise the Lord! So what does that mean? Well be on the lookout for four little Lambes...we will be getting out and about much more often now. I am so excited to experience new things/places with the babies. For now, we will start this beautiful first day of April with a lovely wagon ride!

Can you tell who doesn't have a seat belt yet...and who is not too happy about his?!? hehehe

Ahem...notice anything? Yep that's right, Momma won the battle of the bows! All it took? Persistence. (Note to self!) Seriously, thanks for all of your tips.

Love that little wrinkle nose smile!
(Rocco)

Happy happy boy!
(Madden)

Hey there, Mr. Blue eyes!
(Jagger)

Happy April!

Empty Nest?

Well, not quite...but we have had some recent nights where our little birds have spent the night away in other nests. You see, we have been struggling with 4 sickies and 8 ear infections which as you may know leads to many sleepless nights. I think we were a little spoiled when they started sleeping all night at 5 months and continued to do so until their first little bout of sickness in December. That was when the first ear infection struck. Since then, we have had some full nights of sleep but they have been few and far between. So...our friends and family have come to the rescue, occasionally taking a baby or two to relieve the number of times we get up at night. And there was one night...all four were away! It was a little sad as it was our first night away from all of them (or them from us as the case may be), but I'd be lying if I said I didn't enjoy my bed a little more that night ;) Of course, we missed them like CRAZY and couldn't wait to see them the next day!

Nanny gets Madden!

Another night...Sloan's off to G.G.'s

Madden: "Later Momma!"

So they've been a little under the weather...nothing major, just runny noses and ear infections mainly. But it has kept them from getting their one year shots. They are 13 months old now. We have been a few times for our one year well visit and each time been sent home with more medicine. I am hopeful that our scheduled appointment for this Thursday will be the one!

It's been awhile...so what's new? Well, we officially have 4 crawlers. Yes, Rocco and Madden decided they wanted to turn one before they decided to crawl! But lookout, they are all over the place. Everytime we get in the "cage" (that's what we call the play yard in the living room), they attack you like a school of piranhas. They are now all pulling to stand, cruising and starting to take some steps with assistance. Everyday brings something new...it really is so much fun!

Our latest battle, however, is one with Miss Priss. Her bangs are starting to get in her eyes. I am a fan of headbands with flowers which she pulls right out. So then I switched to the little clip bows. For awhile there, she would wear those never acting like they bothered her. So I went and added to her bow collection and wouldn't you know it...the very next day she started pulling those out too! Any suggestions to keep bows in? We've tried distracting her while I put it in which may work for a short time but she always finds it and pulls it out! We've tried telling her how pretty it is! I've tried wearing them in my hair...cute, I know! I am definitely gonna keep trying but I may have to trim her hair in the meantime (sniff, sniff). Stay tuned to see who wins the Battle of the Bows!

This was one of those rare moments where she was distracted long enough for me to snap a picture. The bow is not even doing much but it was the best I could do!

I had to resort to the pebbles look which I'm not a huge fan of, but she doesn't know or doesn't care that it's there and it gets the job done...sort of.

Oh and today, I saw the proofs of their one year photo shoot with Cherish. I'm so excited to show them to you. We are in the process of getting the web images so that I can...can't wait!

Kami

The 1st Birthday Baa-aash!!

So the big day was a couple of weeks ago, but I couldn't go without posting pics of that special day. To us it was more than just a birthday party for Sloan, Rocco, Madden & Jagger, it was a special celebration of their first year of life. Life...because in the beginning, we were told that the chances of coming home with all four babies were not great...and coming home with four healthy babies, well even worse. We know that our God is bigger than statistics. And yes, He could have chosen to take one, two or all of our children and we would have accepted that it was part of His plan. But He didn't. He gave us four healthy babies. We want to praise Him everyday, especially this day, and give Him all the glory.

The invitation

The memorabilia table

The food table

The birthday boys' and girl's special seats

The awesome cake
(made with love by G.G.)

the party hat smash cakes

Party favors: "Thank ewe for coming!" lamb cupcakes

The party was great. We were surrounded by lots of friends and family which is exactly how we wanted to celebrate the day. Unfortunately, I think our little ones were a little unsure of all the buzz or it could have been their change in schedule, but we didn't capture too many of those million dollar smiles we see so often everyday. All four babies were very cautious when digging into their cakes which was a little surprising to me. I was expecting them to dive right in judging they way they reach for and grab at their food at home. It took a little while, but they eventually got comfortable as you will see in the pics.

One guest of honor, Madden with Grandaddy

Daddy with birthday boy, Jagger

The princess mingling...thrilled, huh?

Family Pic
(Jagger, Sloan, Madden, and Rocco)

There's a smile!

The boys with their cute hats...we were trying to get Missy Ma'am to wear hers. She wasn't having it!

This was when we were singing Happy Birthday to Jagger (yes, we sang it four times)...the look he was giving everyone was priceless!

Madden: "Are you serious?"

Jagger liked it...and yes, that is only green icing in his nose!

That's the way Sloanie. Oh and of course, she had to have a wardrobe change to eat cake!

Roc: "Yummmmm...."

Momma and cake monster, Rocco

And Look who dropped by?!? The Tubre quads and their parents, Jac and Torey. Thanks for coming guys!
Now that's alot of babies!
(Nick with Madden & Jagger, Torey with Tyger and Cullen, Jac with Emma and Abby, Me with Sloan and Rocco)

A collage of other special guests

And once the big "kids" cleared off the jump-jump, we let the babies have a turn.

Nate (our nephew), Nick and Alicia

"Yeah, so what's the big deal?"

Thanks to everyone who came and celebrated with us. Special thanks to our friend and photographer, Chad Keith, for taking these priceless pictures for us. To G.G., thanks for all of your hard work with the party....thanks for helping to make the day super special for us! We love you.

Love,
Kami
