Well, not quite...but we have had some recent nights where our little birds have spent the night away in other nests. You see, we have been struggling with 4 sickies and 8 ear infections which as you may know leads to many sleepless nights. I think we were a little spoiled when they started sleeping all night at 5 months and continued to do so until their first little bout of sickness in December. That was when the first ear infection struck. Since then, we have had some full nights of sleep but they have been few and far between. So...our friends and family have come to the rescue, occasionally taking a baby or two to relieve the number of times we get up at night. And there was one night...all four were away! It was a little sad as it was our first night away from all of them (or them from us as the case may be), but I'd be lying if I said I didn't enjoy my bed a little more that night ;) Of course, we missed them like CRAZY and couldn't wait to see them the next day!
So they've been a little under the weather...nothing major, just runny noses and ear infections mainly. But it has kept them from getting their one year shots. They are 13 months old now. We have been a few times for our one year well visit and each time been sent home with more medicine. I am hopeful that our scheduled appointment for this Thursday will be the one!
It's been awhile...so what's new? Well, we officially have 4 crawlers. Yes, Rocco and Madden decided they wanted to turn one before they decided to crawl! But lookout, they are all over the place. Everytime we get in the "cage" (that's what we call the play yard in the living room), they attack you like a school of piranhas. They are now all pulling to stand, cruising and starting to take some steps with assistance. Everyday brings something new...it really is so much fun!
Our latest battle, however, is one with Miss Priss. Her bangs are starting to get in her eyes. I am a fan of headbands with flowers which she pulls right out. So then I switched to the little clip bows. For awhile there, she would wear those never acting like they bothered her. So I went and added to her bow collection and wouldn't you know it...the very next day she started pulling those out too! Any suggestions to keep bows in? We've tried distracting her while I put it in which may work for a short time but she always finds it and pulls it out! We've tried telling her how pretty it is! I've tried wearing them in my hair...cute, I know! I am definitely gonna keep trying but I may have to trim her hair in the meantime (sniff, sniff). Stay tuned to see who wins the Battle of the Bows!
Nanny gets Madden!

Another night...Sloan's off to G.G.'s
Madden: "Later Momma!"

This was one of those rare moments where she was distracted long enough for me to snap a picture. The bow is not even doing much but it was the best I could do!
I had to resort to the pebbles look which I'm not a huge fan of, but she doesn't know or doesn't care that it's there and it gets the job done...sort of.
Oh and today, I saw the proofs of their one year photo shoot with Cherish. I'm so excited to show them to you. We are in the process of getting the web images so that I can...can't wait!

GIRL! First of all, having the house to yourself?! I can only imagine... But, I'm right there with you on missin' 'em like crazy! And, the backpacks were darling!
Ear infections - Oh man! We did that. We also had the crew that slept like little angels, until they didn't and the ear battle began. We're now tubular. Hopefully, you won't have to go that route and they'll just quit gettin' those blasted infections.
Don't even get me started on the bangs in the face and the unruly only girl who won't keep a dang ole' bow in her hair! As a matter of fact, I'm off to check out the link Suz posted.
Hugs!
KAMI: When my little girl wore bows, etc. I used either a HAT PIN or a THUMB TACK! HA! Bet she will get used to them and then the boys will be pulling them out of her hair!
Your FAMILY IS SO PRECIOUS and I do enjoy your blogs! Prayers continue for your family....A Hello to NICK!

I have to agree with Suz... little rubber bands. I did the Pebbles thing with my daughter for a long time because her hair wouldn't grow.
One trick you might try is to put in two clips. Then when she pulls one out - she won't know the other one is there.
You could also do the Pebbles thing but then use the bow clip to hold the top of the pony down so it isn't straight up in the air and you also still get the prettiness of the bows.
I just gave up on Kylie's hair with pony tails. She WON'T leave them in. Maya always left them in and so does Ellie and Sophie. I just cut Kylie's hair (with a broken wrist....so you can imagine how that turned out) but Good luck. It's so hard. People might think I have 2 boys and 2 girls now. I hope not.
